There are poets who pour their entire lives into their verses—and there are poets who get stuck in their own meter. Oscar Restrepo belongs to the second category. Decades ago, he published a slim volume of poetry that no one read. No career, but plenty of alcohol and a humiliating daily routine as a teacher. But then Yurlady enters his life, a young woman from the slums of Medellín whose poems flow from her as if it were the most natural thing in the world.
