In summer 2025, cinema audiences can expect a special highlight: on July 25, 2025 at 6 p.m., Richard Wagner's opera “Die Meistersinger von Nürnberg” will be brought live to the big screen in a new production by Matthias Davids and under the musical direction of Daniele Gatti. The cinema broadcast will take place with a two-hour delay to the performance in the Festspielhaus and will include two half-hour breaks, during which a cinema-exclusive intermission program (approx. 10 minutes each) will be broadcast. A celebration for all Wagner lovers - directly at the cinema, without a waiting list.

Every year at the end of June/beginning of July, people celebrate the diversity of film in the relaxed atmosphere of the Munich summer. FILMFEST MÜNCHEN is an audience festival, discovery festival, international premiere festival and the No. 1 platform for German filmmaking all in one.

Numerous international and German filmmakers - including international stars such as Gillian Anderson - present more than 150 films in Munich and engage in conversation with the audience at Q&As after the screenings and at the free FilmTalks in the festival center.


From June 27 to July 6, 2025, you can experience diverse cinema from all over the world, fresh film gems from Cannes and German film and series highlights on the big screen.

On Sunday, you can experience the master's music live at our movie theater: Munich cult band **The Blissful Bob** have been delighting Bob Dylan fans for years with their very own interpretations of the master's songs. So it's only natural that the Munich quintet should get the cinema audience in the mood for “Like A Complete Unknown” with a mini-concert. The world premiere of Tom Tykwer's latest feature film DAS LICHT will open the 75th Berlin International Film Festival on February 13, 2025. The German-French production will be presented as a Berlinale Special Gala at the Berlinale Palast.
