When the famous painter Pierre Bonnard met the self-proclaimed noblewoman Marthe de Méligny, he did not yet know that this woman would be the center of his future work. In over 140 paintings and 700 drawings, she would become the muse of his life. But Marthe also wanted to feel validated as an artist.
