Poland during the Cold War. The composer Wiktor wants to breathe new life into his country’s cultural scene. Among his students is the singer Zula. The two fall in love at first sight. But as the ensemble’s repertoire becomes increasingly politicized, Wiktor uses a performance in East Berlin as an opportunity to flee to the West. Zula stays behind.
