Robert Paris, a young photographer, develops photos of the past in his apartment in Berlin, images of his hometown that no longer exist. Just a few kilometers away as the crow flies, gigantic excavators are eating their way into the earth at Europe's largest construction site. A modern metropolis is being built at Potsdamer Platz. Robert witnesses how, after the collapse of the GDR, where he grew up, the old Berlin is disappearing more and more.
