Successful actor Jay Kelly is in the midst of a crisis: his job no longer fulfils him and his relationship with his daughters is in tatters. When an old friend dies, he spontaneously sets off on a turbulent trip through Europe with his manager Ron. Along the way, both men are forced to confront the consequences of their life choices, their family ties and the question of what they want to leave behind.
