Private detective Miles Archer is hired by a woman to shadow a man. But what starts out as a routine job for Archer's partner, the hard-boiled, cynical Sam Spade, quickly turns into a treacherous trap: when both Archer and the man he is shadowing are murdered, Spade himself becomes a suspect in the murder investigation. During his investigations, he encounters a group of shady characters who are all chasing after a valuable statue: the mysterious Maltese Falcon.
