In 1962 Hong Kong, newspaper editor Chow and his wife move into a new apartment in a house in the Shanghai community. There he soon meets Li-zehn, who has also just moved in with her husband. While their spouses are hardly ever at home, Chow and Li-zehn meet almost every day from now on. Chow and Li-zehn become friends, but one day they are forced to face the facts: their spouses are having an affair with each other...
