11th century: After fleeing Isfahan, physician Rob Cole and his companions end up in his old hometown of London, where he hopes to spread the light of his medical knowledge. Soon he becomes entangled in the intrigues of the royal court and once again has to fight: for the lives of his patients, for recognition of his work, and against a whole new challenge – the suffering of the human psyche.
