Julia is disappointed that she has only received a paper Advent calendar. But the house pictured glitters so mysteriously that she can't resist opening the first window of the calendar house. She then realizes that the house is inhabited and that she can visit the people who live there. Off she goes on a truly fantastic adventure with elves, gnomes, an old king, a real villain and a harmonious happy ending.
