The documentary film DER GORDISCHE KNOTEN tells the story of independent theater in the GDR and of the Zinnober group. In SIE, set in the “VEB Textilkombinat Treffmodelle Berlin,” women of different ages, roles, backgrounds, and social circumstances are introduced. DAS FREIE ORCHESTER was known for its avant-garde music and interpretations. At the end of the documentary, the band members play their song “Ham wa nich” and address the shortages in the GDR.
