Berlin in the 1950s. In Kreuzberg, 13-year-old Kalle is the undisputed leader of a gang of kids. When he moves to Prenzlauer Berg with his parents, he finds it difficult to adjust to his new surroundings. The views of his new teacher at the school on Dunckerstraße are alien to him, and he meets with a lack of understanding from his classmates. Life often takes place outside, Kalle is out and about all the way down to Rosenthaler Platz.
