20. Around the World in 14 Films Munich
The 20th Berlin World Cinema Festival visiting Munich
Around the World in 14 Films is both a cinematic journey around the world and a review of the year. As a “festival of festivals,” the film festival presents 14 outstanding works of young world cinema in the form of a nine-day cinematic journey around the globe at the end of each year. The 14 works form the core of the festival and come from different countries and cultural circles, from South America and the USA to Africa, through parts of Europe, the Middle East, Iran, and East Asia to Australia. The program is complemented by special screenings, thematic series, and a German film of the year.
All festival entries have previously been discussed and awarded at the leading film festivals in Cannes, Locarno, and Venice. The films are Munich or German premieres.
